This is the most beautiful picture I think I have ever seen. If you’re a longtime, hardcore Korn fan like me, you’ll get it. If not, I can’t even tell you. Just…it’s been a long seven years without him, and I think the first step has been taken to him finally coming back home.
The emotion on Jonathan Davis’s face just kills me. That does it, I have GOT to write this rock star book burning in my brain. :)
And I totally never noticed “Leave me breathless” was a lyric in this song, but now that Adrian Patrick has sung it, it is DEFINITELY the title of Ghost’s book. It’s like fate. :p (Unless my editor makes me change it for some reason, that is…which I really can’t see happening.)
But WOW!! He is just…INCREDIBLE! I love the original song, but I must say he’s done it justice. Love the screams too. *drool*
Woo hoo! You might have seen me mention Otherwise in a previous post. I became interested in these guys when I heard Adrian Patrick sing “The Promise” with In This Moment. *swoon* I thought, WHOA, he’s incredible. I gotta look that dude up. So I did. At the time, his band Otherwise was unsigned. They have since remedied that, and their first video, for their single “Soldiers,” debuted today.
I guess I’m so excited for them because, as someone stated on Youtube, they are a testament to never giving up on your dreams.
Another reason could be because I love following his hijinks on Facebook and Adrian actually wished me happy birthday there last year. *sigh*
Yet another could be because Adrian Patrick has become my Ghost. Oh, yes. He doesn’t have to be your Ghost, but he is SO totally my Ghost. :-)
Some of you might have noticed the site took a little vacation for a couple of weeks. My web host, Janus Portal–also home to a lot of other romance author sites–was hit by a nasty hacker and most of us were down for quite a while. Hopefully all is in working order, but if you find anything still wonky, please let me know.
Also, if you sent me an email during that time, most likely it was lost since my email is through my host. I apologize. If I didn’t reply, it’s not that I’m ignoring you; it’s that I didn’t get it. I can always be found on my Twitter or Facebook, so you can always hit me up there too.
Thanks so much for your patience through that ordeal. As celebration for my site coming back, I thought I’d share some man candy. ;) Now, usually, I don’t have any celebs in mind when I write my characters. I didn’t have any in mind when I wrote Brian. Candace sort of became Jordan Lloyd from Big Brother because I was finishing up writing the book while her season was on. Cute, blonde, southern, sweet. Yep, Candace. But Brian? Nope, he was himself. But shortly after Rock Me released, a reader sent me a message letting me know she imagined him looking like Toryn Green, who used to be the lead singer of Fuel. She attached a pic. I have to say I agreed. And then I found THIS pic. And…OMG. I thought he was SO Brian in this picture, from the cap, to the hair, to the EYES–he just needs more tattoos and piercings, of course (though he does have some pretty cool ambigram tats), and he’s a little too clean shaven for Brian. But yeah. This is about as close as it gets, really, at least in my head.
I feel this is sufficient explanation for why poor Candace’s mind was short-circuiting much of the time. Hehe.
Now, about his sidekick, Ghost. I described him a certain way in Rock Me. As far as his description in the book, he has to stay the same. But damn, things go soooo much more smoothly in writing him when I imagine him as Adrian Patrick. Who is that, you ask? He’s the hooded guy in this video…
That’s Ghost and Macy’s song, incidentally. Mmm. Look at his hands. Look how he touches her. AUGH! It’s no surprise Ghost is wearing a hood in the first scene of his book. ;) And the best thing about Adrian is that he seems like a really cool guy. He wished me happy birthday on my Facebook page last year. Called me “Ms. Lynn.” HOW FREAKING AWESOME IS THAT? I nearly fell off my chair. Check out his band, Otherwise. They’re on the upswing!
This concludes a little peek into my inspiration of late. I hope you’ve enjoyed it. ;)
As I was pondering on Twitter the other night, there is only one instance of a teen infatuation of mine enduring until adulthood. Not Corey Feldman (loved him in The Lost Boys days), not Christian Slater (Heathers, anyone? Pump Up the Volume?). Those guys were great in their time. I wallpapered my room with their pictures. Christian actually hung in there for several years. With each of my movie star crushes, all those oh-so-clueless adults in my life were like, “Oh, some day you’ll look back and laugh that you ever liked him.” And in my teen know-it-all fashion, I’d say “Noooo! I will love him foreverrrrr!!” Ha.
Well, I’d just like to announce that my very first major crush is still making me proud. The fact that he was (and still is) a down and dirty rocker makes me even prouder. The naysayers got that one dead freaking wrong. Nikki Sixx is ten times hotter now than he was when I was 13 and so madly in love with him. I mean…I’m just speechless. He’s not only ten times hotter, to me he is absolutely one of the most gorgeous men alive. Pretty damn good, huh? It was 23 years ago that I wanted to cry because my uncle didn’t take me to a Motley Crue concert with him (what I expected to accomplish there, I have no idea, lol). But I watched the “Home Sweet Home” video until I wore out the tape. Hell, all their videos. Loved them. They were my first rock obsession, so there will always be a special place in my heart for them.
As for Nikki, yep, he’s still got it going on, better than ever. I devoured The Heroin Diaries. As with most rock memoirs/confessionals I read, I was aghast, horrified, and very saddened at what was going on behind the scenes of one of my favorite bands. I’m not naive about it in any way, but it’s pretty heartbreaking what these guys are going through due to the ravages of fame once the curtain falls. At least, it is to me.
Well, I came here to rave about how smokin’ one of my rock idols still is after all these years, and got a little deeper than I intended. But that’s all right. There’s always time for hotness, right? I was browsing Youtube and came across this video. And said to myself, “Wow. What great taste I had at 13.” =P
But I’d also like to add my heart was stolen away in 1999 by the unhinged vocal stylings and spastic antics of one Mr. Jonathan Davis. And he’s here to stay, baby, for better or worse!
